Acer Aspire 3830TG is of the most popular notebook in Acer notebooks series and the latest one powered by Intel’s Sandy Bridge Platform.
Acer Aspire unveils the new updated version featuring the new Intel’s Sandy Bridge Platform for the better performance. This model platform is based consumer Ultra low voltage processors and Nvidia Geforce GT 540M graphics and also accommodates Super Speed USB 3.0 port with independent charging for 13 inch laptops. The display resolution of these notebooks will be 1396 x 768 pixels. This notebook is one of the latest one in Acer Aspire containing Intel’s Sandy Bridge Platform. It contains independent charging with the Super Speed USB 3.0 port. This is one of the best Acer Aspire timeline X notebooks of Acer. It contains pack of Kenwood’s Dolby Home Theater speakers for better audio. Its delivers 25% longer battery life for up to 10 hours of power which can be used the entire day for multitasking and

The new Acer TimelineX 3830TG slightly have different chassis designs compared to the previous series TimelineX series. One of the most intriguing designs from Acer yet, the Aspire TimelineX 3830TG sports a very unique cobalt-blue metallic lid and matching palm rest. The thin chassis is chiseled in flat planes and blunt edges, held together by a solid cylindrical hinge. Framed in silver, the recessed keyboard has black keys, which match the display’s hinge and glossy frame.
The TimelineX 3830TG powered by an Intel Core i5 Sandy Bridge 2410M series with 2.3GHz to 2.9GHz speed Turbo Boost technology. In addition, the device also features 4GB DDR3 memory that upgradable to 8GB. For your data storage, the 640 GB harddisk capacity is available.

Acer TimelineX Series offered in three screen sizes, 13 inch, 14 inch and 15 inch. This notebook screen using a glare finishing.

Unfortunately, Acer doesn’t provides an optical drive on the 13 inches series. If you want a notebook that is equipped with an optical drive then you can choose Acer TimelineX with screen 14 inch or 15 inch. The TimelineX 3830TG offers three USB ports, one being high-speed USB 3.0.
Other offerings include an HDMI port to output HD video to TVs and monitors, VGA for SD video, Ethernet, and a 5-in-1 media card reader.
There’s also headphone and mic jacks, plus a Kensington security lock.
The Aspire TimelineX 3830TG uses a chiclet-style keyboard with square island keys. The Enter key is oddly shaped, kind of like what you’d find on a typewriter, but overall typing could be comfortable. On the far right of the keyboard sit Home, Pg Up, Pg Dn, and End keys, which
double as multimedia controls. Measuring 3 x 1.5 inches, the Synaptics touchpad on the TimelineX 3830TG is fairly small for a 13-inch notebook.
Above the keyboard sits a long speaker bar prominently bearing the Dolby Home Theater moniker. A power button glows blue next to the speaker, while the status lights gleam in blue and orange on the notebook’s front lip. The undercarriage is a plain black plastic
punctuated with slotted vents.
One thing interesting about this series is the battery indicator on the front. The indicator can show the remaining battery capacity is available. When you press it for 3 seconds and the lights changed to blue, then the battery is in full condition or more than half. When the light turns yellow, then the battery is under 50%. When the light turns red, it means it’s time you charge this notebook. Acer TimelineX 3830TG has another uniqueness. In the Bios, there is an unusual setting, when compared with other notebooks. There you will find a
setting Integrated graphics with selection or switching. When you select Integrated, then only the Intel HD 3000 graphics are active and in-disable NVIDIA graphics. When you select switching, then the NVIDIA Optimus will be active.
