AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) has released a special limited edition processors are designed for heavy overclocking. These processors are named Phenom X4 42 II Black Edition TWKR, a new chip-based AMD Phenom
II series and support high voltages, is also capable of running at higher frequencies. The chip is designed to handle extreme performance and high operating speeds. Overclocking, including the chip clock speed beyond the factory settings, often used to support the performance to demand high computing tasks. This limited edition processor is presented in an exclusive nice little metal box as if it were a jewel.
AMD Phenom II X4 42 Black Edition TWKR microprocessor is designed to be extreme overclocker, which is why its “default” settings are not important at all: even though the nominal frequency of the chip is just 2.0GHz with 1.440V voltage, the chip will never be utilized at this clock-speed. Instead, professional overclockers will use extreme cooling methods, e.g., liquid nitrogen, dry ice, liquid helium, cascade, etc. These processors really start to show off their capabilities at a much lower temperature that is not quite attained with dry ice, as we have seen. Now, you might be wondering as to how high it could go. Well, AMD has produced a great little video to show it off. Not only liquid nitrogen but also liquid helium was used to cool the processors down to near absolute zero (-273oC). The fact that they can scale that much and that they can run without any glitch at such low temperatures demonstrates the sound engineering and the superior process that lies in each of the Phenom II processors. It is amazing that the engineers over at AMD were able to create processors without any ‘cold bugs.’ In other words, cooler is better.
Nevertheless, “TWKR” processors will not provide truly unbeatable overclocking results: AMD only expects maximum clock-speed to be in the range between 100MHz and 200MHz higher compared to maximum
overclocking result of the Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition (3.20GHz nominal frequency). Professional overclockers can make AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition processor work at about 7.0GHz under certain
conditions, therefore, at least some TWKR processors will be able to work even faster than that.
The basic AMD Phenom II TWKR CPU Details:
• AMD created a small number of limited edition “TWKR” processors expressly for the extreme overclocking community in appreciation for their record performance feats with Dragon platform technology and AMD
Phenom II processors. These processors are designed to reach the utmost performance barriers of the AMD Phenom II processor and operate beyond the specifications of typical production level processors.
• Called the AMD Phenom II X4 42 Black Edition TWKR processor, it is not for sale, and not covered by AMD’s product warranty. This processor is provided “as is” and AMD is not liable for any damages, of any type or character (including without limitation, system damage, loss of data or personal injury) caused as a result of using this processor. The processor will be distributed at this time solely through AMD promotional means.
• Under extreme low temperatures (liquid nitrogen and liquid helium cooling), TWKR processors can reach clock frequencies and near absolute zero temperatures previously unheard of for x86 quad-core
processors.
• These processors demonstrate the sound engineering and superior process technology that is in each AMD Phenom II processor.
While overclocking can increase the CPU performance, overclocking can also shorten the chip life and increase the risk of overheating the processor. For example, many systems overclocking using extra cooling,
and some uses of ultra cold liquid, such as liquid nitrogen and helium. In the meantime, AMD will offer for sale TWKR processor in public, and will also be distributed to selected 100 experts overclocking. AMD expects that the chip Phenom X4 II Black Edition 42 This will add TWKR line Phenom II and a new performance record.
