Intel Pentium G620 is a dual-core microprocessor for budget desktop PCs. Unlike previous generation of Pentium G69xx CPUs, that had two separate dies with CPU cores and memory/graphics controllers in one package, the G620 has all chip components integrated on a single die, manufactured using 32nm process. The Pentium incorporates the following components: two CPU cores, level 3 cache, DDR3 memory controller, PCI Express 2.0 interface, Direct Media Interface 2.0, and HD graphics.
Two CPU cores on Intel G620 chip run at 2.6 GHz, and each core includes 64KB L1 and 256 KB L2 caches. The chip has also 3 MB level 3 cache, which is shared between the cores. The microprocessor supports only basic technologies, provided by Sandy Bridge micro architecture:
Intel 64 and VT-x Virtualization. Advanced technologies, such as Turbo Boost and HyperThreading, are not supported on this Pentium. The G620 doesn’t include AES and AVX instructions, although it supports earlier SIMD instructions up to SSE4.
The presence of Sandy Bridge as the new Intel affects the competitive landscape. Intel realized that the entry-level class processors including essential in supporting the overall market share. The presence of the Pentium M 620 is one proof that Intel still consider the entry level class is important.

Based on the testing we’ve done, shows that the Pentium M 620 is still seen to have lower performance when compared to 2100 i3. In the specification can be seen that the presence of a Pentium M 620 intended for users with limited funds but need the performance of Sandy Bridge technology from Intel.
The G620 Pentium despite having a lower frequency than the Pentium G6950 (200MHz less) on average it shows superior performance and this difference is accentuated at the same frequency. It should be mentioned that there is an area where the old Pentium G6950 completely
surpasses the new Pentium G620 and this is the subject of overclocking, due to known generator clock limitations integrated into the Sandy Bridge chips non-K Series.
Compared with the previous generation processor, the Pentium M 620 advantage lies in its performance VGA which has considerably increased. Some games can run quite smoothly. In addition, its single-core performance to compete even with the previous 540 i3 (the price is still more expensive). With all its shortcomings (in performance), a price tag of this processor makes it an attractive option, especially when paired with a chipset H61/H67. With the combination of motherboard and processor that can be redeemed only IDR 1, 2 million.
